Wisdom Reader Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how the Wisdom Reader app for iOS and Android (app identifier com.q10elabs.wisdom; "the app") handles your data. The app is a reader for the books of Quintism.

Summary

  • The app has no user accounts and no sign-in.
  • The app does not collect personal data. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us or to anyone else.
  • The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting software.
  • The few things the app remembers (such as your saved passages and reading position) are stored only on your device.

Who we are

The app is published by Q10E Labs B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands (KvK 98901818).

Data stored on your device

To work as a reader, the app saves the following on your device, in its private storage provided by the operating system:

  • your current reading position, and the last position in each book;
  • the passages you choose to save, and the date you saved them;
  • your reader settings: numeral style, text size, colour theme, snooze delay, and the hemisphere (northern or southern) you select for the seasonal features. The hemisphere is a setting you choose; the app does not access your location;
  • the state of in-app reminders ("recurring moments"): which ones you muted, dismissed or snoozed, your reminder timing preferences, and the last random verse shown.

This data stays on your device. It is not sent to Q10E Labs, and we have no way to access it.

Network use

The texts of the books are included in the app, so the app does not need a network connection to display them.

Links in the app (for example to quintism.org, q10elabs.com or creativecommons.org) open in your web browser. Those websites are governed by their own privacy policies.

Sharing

When you tap Share on a passage, the app passes the passage text and a link to it to your device's share sheet or clipboard. The content goes only to the recipient or other app you choose. The app does not share anything without that action from you.

Third parties

The app does not include third-party software that collects or receives your data, and we do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone.

You download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google may collect data about app downloads and usage under their own privacy policies; Q10E Labs does not control that processing.

Device backups

If you have device backups enabled (for example Google backup on Android or iCloud backup on iOS), your operating system may include the app's local data in those backups. Such backups are handled by Google or Apple under your account settings with them, not by Q10E Labs.

Permissions

  • Android: The app requests only the standard internet access permission. It does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or biometrics.
  • iOS: The app does not request any permissions.

Security

The app keeps its data in the private storage area that the operating system provides, which other apps cannot read. Because no personal data is transmitted or stored by us, there is no server-side copy of your data that could be exposed.

Retention and deletion

  • In-app reminder records are cleared automatically once the related reminder period has passed.
  • All other data (saved passages, reading position, settings) is kept on your device until you remove it.

You can delete your data at any time:

  • remove individual saved passages from within the app;
  • clear the app's data from your device settings (Android); or
  • uninstall the app, which removes all of its local data from the device.

Since Q10E Labs does not hold any of your data, there is nothing to delete on our side.

Children

The app is not directed at children, and it does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar laws, you have rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. Because Q10E Labs does not collect or hold personal data through the app, we normally have nothing to provide or delete. You are still welcome to contact us at privacy@q10elabs.com with any question, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, such as the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes to this policy

If the app's handling of data changes, we will update this policy before the change takes effect and update the effective date at the top of this page. The current version is always available at https://q10elabs.com/privacy/wisdom/.
